The Spanish Association Against Cancer is once again a resounding success in the 38th edition of the Gala Against Cancer held with a dinner hosted by the Local Board of Marbella in Finca La Concepción which has been attended by nearly 500 guests.

The 38th edition of the Gala Against Cancer in Marbella has been conducted by the presenter of Canal Sur Eva Ruiz and Poty Castillo, who were responsible for introducing the artists who would enliven the evening: Juan Peña and Marilia Andrés, a member of the group Ella baila sola. The end of the party was in charge of DJ Kike Supermix.

Likewise, the couple of presenters carried out the raffle of the traditional Gómez & Molina Joyeros chest, composed on this occasion of jewelry of their own creation for a value of 26,400 euros, as well as an Ebel watch from the Brasilia collection.

The Marbella Gala, which once again brought together a large number of solidarity figures, including politicians, businessmen, artists and regular faces of the Marbella summer, has sold tickets for an amount that has reached the amount of 120,000 euros. In addition to this year’s ticket sales, proceeds from the auction, the raffle and Fila Cero, which has been the most successful in the history of the Gala, reaching 40,000 euros.

The amount raised in this edition consolidates the Gala Against Cancer in Marbella as the most important charity event in Spain, raising more than 200,000 euros in a single night.

As in previous editions, all proceeds will be used to fund research projects and to defray all the programs and services that the Spanish Association Against Cancer provides free of charge to patients and their families in the city of Marbella.

In addition to the president of the local board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Marbella, Santiago Gómez-Villares, the association was also represented by the president of the provincial board in Malaga, Joaquín Morales Rubio and the team in charge of organizing the Gala, which consists of the vice president of Marbella, Setareh Mohregui and the members María Matías, José Higuera, Francisco Sánchez and Javier Muñiz.

The Gala Against Cancer was also the setting for the presentation of the second edition of The Fighter award, an annual prize whose objective is to recognize the contribution made by individuals or institutions in the normalization of the word cancer so that all patients have the same opportunities when facing the disease.

In this second edition, the Marbella headquarters has decided to distinguish the actress and singer Lolita Flores, for her contribution to the normalization of cancer and for giving visibility to people who fight against the disease from anonymity.

During the celebration of the Gala, the local headquarters of Marbella gave for the first time a recognition to those companies that during the past year have been significant for their commitment and collaboration with the Spanish Association Against Cancer, among which Gomez & Molina Jewelry has a prominent place.
